Hooray!

Congrats to our frequent commenter Christine (the red head) on the sale of her book: City Chickens!

Hope the marketing committee keeps that title. (The exclamation mark in the title, BTW, is my good-news addition.)

  1. Hard to believe I tore myself away from the inkpot long enough to finish a manuscript. You people have to stop being so interesting. But thanks!

  3. Christine, I have remembered your passion for these chickens since I first read your manuscript. Thrilled for you, at the start of a long book career. The fact that your husband will do the photography makes it a double celebration. Grad Jamie Swenson has had a picture book accepted, too. We love this news.

  5. This just in from Jamie Swenson: "My book is a rhyming pb for toddlers called IF YOU WERE A DOG. I wrote it during my final (Hamline) semester and it was part of my creative thesis. It was sold to FSG and slated for 2012. No illustrator news as of yet.

Congrats, Jamie and Christine. You make my day.

  7. And my book will be a 48 p. nonfiction photo essay from Houghton, also in 2012. Sadly, Jamie and I can't tour together, because If You Were a Dog, you would likely eat a chicken. :)

  8. This is fabulous news, Christine. Congratulations!

Perhaps you and Jamie could co-write If You Were Chicken...which neither of you ever could be!
